Happy 2016 and It's National Hot Tea Month!!!

Okay so I know its been a minute but I've had a lot going on!  With the flood, starting a new job, and the holidays I have been too busy to think!  But since it's a new year I want to make a point to keep my peeps updated on the latest of my coffee and tea adventures.

First off my plan was to host another tea party at the end of this month in honor of January being National Hot Tea Month.  I decided to postpone the party til the spring sometime after Easter.  In the meantime I will be hosting a series of workshops with my business partner and bestie.

The first workshop will be on Stress Management the first week in February.  Of course I will have some relaxing tea ideas to share with the group.  I will also be following up with another workshop on relaxation later in that month as well.  For more info make sure you check out our Triple E Consulting Group website.

I am looking forward to doing more tea events and socials in 2016!  If you have any ideas or suggestions on themes for my tea parties please let me know.  Until next time!  Happy Sipping!!!

Coffee, Tea, Wine and FLOODS!

Okay so I have been MIA for a minute!  The flood swept into town the first week of the month and wrecked havoc on my schedule and focus!

But good news...I AM BACK!!!

So I have been toying with the idea of how to host my second tea party event.  I have a few themes that I have been throwing around.  The first was a retreat/shopping experience to coincide with the holidays.  The second was not actually a tea party but a wine tasting (still one of my preferred beverages :-D) with bite sized finger foods.  The third idea was a crafting event where the ladies put their creativity to use by designing their own hat for the occasion.  The first 2 ideas are perfect for the holiday season but the third will more likely be more appropriate for the spring.  The year is winding down fast so I need to make a decision quick!

If you have a preference of what kind of event I should host next please let me know.  I would LOVE your input!  What event would you prefer?

Happy October!

Hello Everyone!

Okay so today marks the beginning of breast cancer and domestic violence awareness month.  This a great time to talk about these serious issues over a nice hot (or cold) cup of tea!

Of course everyone knows that tea is good for you!  The natural antioxidants found it tea are called polyphenols!  Research has show that green tea in particular is excellent for fighting breast cancer.

Talking over problems while sipping on a nice cup of your favorite tea is relaxing and helps you destress.  I recently read that passion flower tea was as good anxiety.  I don't know about how well it works but the passion tea from Tazo has become my new fav!!!

So relax and show your support in some way this month!  And make sure to try some tea!

National Coffee Day!!!

I know it's almost dinner time but I couldn't let the day go by without acknowledging that today is reserved for one of my favorite beverages:  COFFEE!!!

This week my favorite flavor accent has been hazelnut!  Yummy!  Yesterday I had the pumpkin spice coffee from Starbucks and it was AMAZING!  What's your favorite flavor accent to your coffee?

Lazy Cucumber Sandwiches

The only non negotiable item that I insisted in for my tea party was cucumber sandwiches.  Because the menu wasn't finalized til the last minute I had to come up with something quick.  Here is the recipe I used:

Ingredients:
Cucumbers - peeled and cut into thin slices
Favorite Sandwich Bread
Cream Cheese Spread (I used the garden veggie flavor)

Cut cucumbers into thin slices and place on paper towel.  Let sit in the refrigerator for a few hours (or overnight) so that the excess water drains. This step is of course optional if you are really being lazy.  But do this so the cucumbers don't make the bread soggy.

Spread each slice of bread with cream cheese.  Layer cucumbers on one slice of bread and then cover with other slice.  If your are truly being lazy then stop ight there and eat up.  If serving them I suggest maybe removing the crusts and then cut sandwich into desired shape (I usually do squares or triangles).

Enjoy!

Kiki's 1st Tea Party

Hosted my first tea party today.  Whew!  Let me tell you it was a lot harder that I anticipated but thanks to family and friends it all came together and worked out.

The Menu was kind of last minute (really last minute) but the guests seem to enjoy it:
Assorted Mini Cupcakes
Brownie Bites
Key Lime Cheese Cake Squares
Mini Cinnamon Rolls
Mini Quiches
Pinwheels
Assorted Cookies
Assorted Teas

My plan was to just order some platters from Publix but my finances decided otherwise so I had to make do with what I could find at Walmart.  Overall it was a good time.  I definitely learned a lesson in planning and communication.  Next event will be 10 times better!

Of course I will share all of the details of this event!  I am sure if you are reading this you are just as excited as I am about these wonderful beverages!  I will do my best to keep you all updated on my beverages of choice!  Stay tuned!
